The Four Pillars of Cranial-Sacral Therapy Success
I’ve used Cranial-Sacral Therapy successfully with my clients for over 25 years. From desk workers to football players to retired folks to children with ADD to… You name it, I’ve used CST on everyone – in over 25,000 sessions.
The cool thing is that my student MTs tell me they’re having a lot of success using the CST techniques with their clients, too!
In some sessions, I use the gentle CST techniques along with some of the more aggressive Direct-Indirect Techniques in my toolbox. Sometimes, I do the complete CST protocol session. It all depends on the client and their condition. I teach you how to do both.
I’ve found that success with CST stems from four very important components
- Excellent techniques that have been tested thousands of times – that’s what I provide in the Ray of Light Training Cranial-Sacral Therapy Online Courses. And I provide lots of tips to help you develop your palpatory skills while using CST. Click on the link to get more information about these professionally-produced video courses.
- Excellent communication skills – we need to educate clients about the benefits of CST and where it can help with specific conditions. I describe these benefits and conditions in the ROLT online courses, as well as how to educate your clients about CST. Excellent communication skills are just as important as excellent techniques to the success of your CST practice. That’s right! And one of the keys to excellent communication is listening. (That’s true for all types of relationships, by the way.)
- Your welcoming presence – are you prepared for this session? Are you grounded? Are you carrying a lot of worries or negative emotions into the session? Is your mind and your intuition open and ready to see what your client needs from one minute to the next? A welcoming space is always helpful – quiet, soft colors, soft lighting, either no music or music with no words. I have a Far-Infrared Amethyst Biomat on my table. The gentle far-infrared heat penetrates deep into the tissue and helps the client relax and be receptive to the CST techniques. The Biomat is an FDA-approved medical device, and it has many health benefits. Most of all, clients absolutely love it! They sink right into the table, getting the most out of the session every time. Let me know if you want to get a Biomat for your office or home – 800-584-1564.
- Self-care – you can’t help others if you don’t take good care of yourself. Period. You can do it for awhile, maybe even for a couple of years. But sooner or later it catches up with you. I’ve seen massage therapists burn themselves out physically, mentally, and emotionally. Sometimes, it’s because they do too many massages for too long after graduating from massage school. Sometimes, they’re paying off education expenses while taking care of a household and family. Sometimes, they just feel like they’re “super nurturers” and only live for helping others. That’s a setup for a fail. Sooner or later, you burn out and can’t help others anymore.

The courses are all NCBTMB-approved and also listed with CE-Broker for therapists in Florida and elsewhere. The techniques have been tested in thousands of sessions by me and by thousands of therapists that have taken ROLT courses over the past 14 years.
Go through the course at your own speed. When you’re finished, you take a quick multiple-choice test and print your CE certificate right there (or have it sent to you, if you prefer).
The feedback from therapists has been tremendous for the ROLT Courses, like the message we received below:
“Thank you so much, I really enjoyed this course and have already been able to practice with other therapists who practice CST. So I know it is quality information that you have shared. And actually, I prefer some of the things that you describe and how you describe the technique versus [other teachers]. Thank you so much for this course. It has been such a blessing to be able to do this at home!” ~ Alexis
Stay well,
John
