I am sitting in the Colorado Convention Center in Denver at the annual AMTA convention right now. There are over a hundred vendors and CEU instructors and over a thousand massage therapists here. The energy is high (not just because we’re in CO). Everyone is focused on how to help their clients and their practice.
What amazes me is how many teachers there are teaching all sorts of interesting techniques where the client is contorted into odd positions and the tables are bending and folding in multiple ways. It’s fascinating to watch. But when I ask myself – or other attendees – if they’d use those techniques in their practice, the answer is usually ‘No’.
For me, it’s very important to provide techniques that therapists can use right away after they leave the class – techniques that successfully help our clients to feel better and that are easy on our bodies, so we as therapists can keep on helping people for a long time to come without burning out.
I’m happy to say that the feedback we get from hundreds of students is that they really can use the DIT and CST tools right away in their practice. That’s what it’s all about – bringing about peace on earth one client at a time.

Direct-Indirect Technique™ (DIT) is a blend of the best myo-fascial, neuro-muscular, cranial-sacral, and deep tissue techniques into one highly effective toolbox. The tools you learn and use in these classes range from very deep to very gentle. You will learn how to use the techniques in a systematic, fun way to give your clients the relief they need.
Cranial-Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle therapeutic technique that can be used successfully on a wide variety of clients, including many who ordinarily would be contraindicated for massage.

As always, therapists who want to retake an ROLMT class they’ve taken before can do so to refresh your skills, get some good bodywork, and still earn CEU credit for license renewal.
Stay well,
John
