Something we talk about in nearly all of my classes. The importance of maintaining muscle balance and strength consistently as we get older in order to enhance our quality of life as we age. I would add that it’s equally important to do activities that help you maintain good coordination (like tai chi, walking, swimming, chi gong) and flexibility (like yoga, getting massages, dancing, movement!). Being around my mother in the nursing home regularly, I see the importance of maintaining good strength, coordination, and flexibility so clearly. In this video Mike Vacanti discusses the importance of fitness for prolonged health benefits.
